Dear Parents,
Week two brought excellent weather and an adventure filled trip to the Adirondak State Park, a six-million-acre park in upstate NY, for an overnight trip which included a visit to the Adirondak Museum and a 20-mile whitewater rafting trip on the Indian and Hudson rivers. Camp activities on land and waterfront were also in full swing during the week. Walter Lundburg passed all needed requirements to get into Prospect Lodge. Initiation for lodges take place at the end of the final week where current members welcome initiates and celebrate accomplishments of the new members.
Other activities beyond daily activity periods included an afternoon on Wachusett Beach with water activities and a fourth of July boat parade, in which we entered out own float. The boys observed the parade from the dock and beach and ended the day with a cookout and campfire on the beach.
Dinner on Friday evening was an all you can eat "wing" night with specially prepared dipping sauces. Evening activities included a trip to Poultney, Vermont to observe fireworks on July fourth and Tuesday was a night of Log reading skits by counselors (always creative). Saturday night's highlight was a trip to Pond Hill Ranch to observe a professional rodeo.
Please remember that the best time to contact boys by telephone is during meal times: breakfast 8:40 - 9:15, Lunch 1:00 - 1:50, and Dinner 6:30 - 7:30.
We are looking forward to a great week number three!
Unaliyi and Best Regards, Phil
